This is our second year exploring the 360,000 acre wilderness area located in the heart of the Wallowas (90 minutes NE of Baker City).
There are over 400 miles of trails winding through high alpine lakes and meadows, bare granite peaks and ridges, and numerous
glaciated and stream-cut valleys. We hiked just over 40 miles this year, so it will certainly take several more years to finish our exploration.
The focus was the southern end, using the Main Eagle and West Eagle trail heads.
